Report of the advance screening and talk show event from the first to third episode of 「Yuri!!! on ICE」
Right before the start of this series on Monday, September 25th, the advance screening and talk show event of 「Yuri!!! on ICE」was held at the TOHO Cinema in Shibuya。This report will reveal the content of the advance screening and talk show event from the first to third episode.
In the atmosphere of remaining the excitement venue, we had the draft/name (screenplay draft)/Mitsuro Kubo in charge of the character draft, Kenji Miyamoto for figure skating choreography, Toshiyuki Toyonaga for the role of Toshiya Katsuki, Junichi Suwabe for the role of Viktor Nikiforov, Koki Uchiyama for the role of Yuri Plisetsky on the stage and the audience greeted the five persons with applause.
In the talk corner "Yuri on Talk!!!", Mr. Toyonaga said "Anyway, the skate scenes are very good. The music as well as the image. It was good that you could see it in a more beautiful look environment." When Mr. Miyamoto asked "How was it?", it was overwhelmed with the audience's cheers and applause. When the topic of the opening artist/DEAN FUJIOKA which opened the other day comes out, Mr. Miyamoto highly praised saying "It is a perfect music to skate.", and also Mr. Kubo commented "It is music I want to listen in a figure skating rink."
When the question to the casting members became about the impression of the figure skating, Uchiyama who is a newest newbie skater among the members said; "I search all the words, whenever I encounter a new word. I'm in the middle of learning about the points and the each type of jumps which are rather difficult to remember. But in the show even if you don't know about those, it is created to be able to understand them, so I am glad." And Kubo said, "I'd like both people to enjoy watching this, even if they know about skating well and they know nothing about it, so I am happy to hear that he said so."
After that the topic went to the episode of choreography by Miyamoto-san. Original choreography is created for all characters in the main story, and back-patting applause raised when Miyamoto-san talked about untold fact that since around last November, filming of choreography continued until late-evening every day and it was fairly rough but really enjoyable.as for the impressions on the characters, Mr. Toyonaga talked about his episode; he felt empathy for Yuri, since a professional actor and a figure skater share a similarity which is to say "both are supported by many people, however are alone on the stage", and cried 5 times. Mr. Suwabe said, "although I was troubled to have received a direction to play Victor "like a weird guy he is", but by talking to Mr. Kubo I found a missing piece", Uchiyama is a yankee in low spirits. He described his particularity for his role, "I thought it would be good if I could express sweet and reckless aspect of a 15-year-old and make them complex eventually".
The friendly talk show was ended with the casts' closing greetings. Following the group of the casts who declared to do their best to work on it, Mr. Kubo affectionately messaged out as "I do my very best to create a work like I have never seen just like aiming to get a gold medal. Since the grand-prix series is about to start, I hope the audiences to enjoy it with the anime."
